it means what? ♥

today is day 1 of the school year's second semester, and as always, nothing unusual. aside from seeing my classmates again after a two week-long vacation. i did miss them, but then, there's nothing special with this day. in fact, we were not even able to meet our professors in natsci, filipino, and the other subject which i forgot already. (laughs), oh weLL. goodLuck me for the next days. i have to study hard. harder. :) more effort, one goal - to be a DEAN's LISTER! i have been aiming for that for three semesters already and i was not able to do it. i guess, i have to do it better. I MUST.

oh, by the way, i almost forgot, our schedule for this sem had already been altered. :) AT LAST!! we're already coming to school every afternoon. :)

that's all for now.

“RSHS, Thank You!”

What was this prestigious institution had instilled in my life? As a normal school girl, I am also thankful that once in my life, I dwelled in a school which almost every incoming high school students in our entire region aspired to be in for. I could really assure that this institution is embraces well-trained and well-chosen personas. For instance, teachers who educate us in this school are meticulously hired. Moreover, all students have to undergo three screenings before they can formally enroll in the said school. Next, the teaching and maintenance staff as well (i.e. janitor, school canteen vendors), were vastly humane, supportive, and understanding wherein every students could approach them without difficulties whenever there are problems regarding school issues. Another thing are the events and activities that each and every one of us experienced during our stay in the school. We were encouraged to attend school seminars, trainings and workshops that are not only school based, but national based as well. Aside from that, students were also sent to contested activities wherein the chosen competitors were able to make it through the regional level, up to the national level too, gaining lots of meritorious awards. With the common lifestyle among students of my school, my personality, character and ability were able to improve and develop.
As a student of this science high school, people from outside were able to come up with my personality basing from their own perceptions. As I have observed, and others would normally observe too, students from other schools, even elders and other members of the community, notice us as role models and leaders. Moreover, the thinking that we are socially inclined was also developed, eliminating the mistaken negative perceptions regarding our personalities. Others also see us as youths who are able to lend a hand with our fellows especially those who are in immense need. However, other would also discern us as presumptuous swanky people who set ourselves in the pinnacle where we are above everyone else. Those who do not truly know us, and were not given the chance to know us better, would almost all the time come up with a judgment that we brag every single thing we achieve in the academic aspects of our lives. I admit that some of us would really be tempted to cross ahead the limit of our humbleness because they were blinded by the shining scaffold of continuous success, yet we squabble for the fact that not all of us we eventually experience such. The rumored issues regarding our personalities were exaggerated and embellished that sometimes, people are blinded by the good aspects among us. However, those were only people of little population who do not exert effort to recognize our real characters.
Another thing that my high school life imparted on me is the improvement of my character. As I continue my voyage in the secondary level of education, my kindheartedness and benevolence for others were improved. I had been able to instill in my heart that it is my obligation to show benevolence and respect for other because as a student, I should apply everything I learned in the academe in my real life. Moreover, I also learned to value more the environment – the nature. I was able to learn that if I do not pay respect to Mother Earth, I can be the cause of the continuous degradation of life in the world. I also learned to realize the worth of my family. I learned in the school that the family is the basic unit of the society, thus without my family, my community will be incomplete. Above all, I realized that God should be the center of my life. He knows everything including the best things that I need, certainly everything. Due to that reason, the spiritual aspect of my life had strengthened.
Lastly, my high school life helped me discover many of my abilities in life and most of them were unknown to me until I graduated high school. Before, I am like flower inside a nutshell, hiding myself from everyone else. However, as time goes by, I noticed that I was able to overcome my fear of being rejected because the activities we had in school developed my ability to mingle with others. I also learned that I have the ability to help other people aside from myself. Moreover, I was able to develop my competence. I had this feeling that I am a few bricks short of a load before, but I gained more confidence to lurk in the battlefield of the academe. I was also able to learn how to solve problems on my own. I developed independence from my others and I was able to find my own solutions to my endeavors. Most importantly, I gained more knowledge so I improved my intelligence and skills, like those of my writing skills, communication skills, and mathematical skills.
For this matter, I could say that my stay in the Regional Science High School had really contributed a lot of things for me to attain positive changes in my life, that until now, I am still benefiting from. How about your high school life? Have you been changed?
